Shiu Pong Group Supporting Leading Immunotherapy Research
Immunotherapy is poised to become the 4th pillar of cancer treatment. The Princess Margaret is leading the way in this exciting area of cancer research. Earlier this year, Henry and Daniel Hung, owners of the Shiu Pong Group, made a commitment of $500,000 in support of Dr. Tak Mak’s immunotherapy team. Passionate about funding education, Shiu Pong Group’s gift is directed towards fostering the future leaders of cancer research. With these funds, Dr. Tak Mak was able to expand his team and recruit three new post-doctoral researchers to The Princess Margaret.

In 1926, the forefather of what is known as Shiu Pong was incorporated in Hong Kong. At the time Wai tak was one of the largest mortgage lenders in Hong Kong and continues to be a leader there today.

Shiupong Group Annual Event in Blue Mountain, October 2013
Staffs of Shiupong Group went on a wonderful field trip in Blue Mountain & Collingwood area this year. The Group reached to the top of Blue Mountain ski resort to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fall colors and followed by a delicious lunch buffet in the Oliver & Bonacini restaurant. After lunch, the Group visited the Apple Pie Trail outlets in Collingwood and then spent time crazy shopping in Tanger Outlets before end of the trip. A memorable time for everyone!

Fairchild Radio Listeners Raise $157,417 for SickKids
The seventh annual Fairchild Radiothon presented by a SickKids community leader, Shiu Pong Group of Companies, was held on Thursday, September 12, and raised an incredible $157,417 for SickKids Foundation.
From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., families and SickKids staff from the Chinese community shared their inspirational stories in an effort to raise funds for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). The event was broadcast live all day from the Atrium at SickKids.
“We are thankful to have the continued support of Fairchild Radio and our community who rallied to raise critical funds for SickKids,” said Tanya Tucker, Manager, Direct Marketing, SickKids Foundation. “The staff and volunteers from Fairchild Radio and Shiu Pong Group of Companies, the families who bravely shared their stories and community members who generously donated all contributed to the success of this event.”
Funds raised during the 11-hour event are used to fund child health research, education and the purchase of medical equipment. To date, the event has now raised more than $750,000 for SickKids.

Telethon on Fairchild TV Raises $144,000 for SickKids
The 15th annual SickKids Telethon on Fairchild TV, presented by Shiu Pong Group of Companies, was held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 and raised an incredible $144,000 for SickKids Foundation.
